How It Started
Michelle grew up in London surrounded by the traditions of British baking and afternoon tea. When she moved to Southern California to build a life with her husband Joe, she brought those traditions with her — not as a business plan, but as a way to stay connected to home.

She started baking British scones, shortbreads, and Victoria sponge cakes at home to share with family and close friends. She'd prepare afternoon tea for birthdays and special occasions, and every time, the same thing happened: guests would ask "where can I order this?" and "can you do this for my shower?"
The idea for Britalicious came to life during a walk through a farmers market in Oceanside, California. Michelle and Joe talked about what it would look like to share the experience of a proper British afternoon tea with people across Southern California — not just the food, but the entire experience: the vintage teaware, the elegant presentation, the slower pace that turns a gathering into a memory.
In 2020, they made it official. Britalicious launched from a licensed commercial kitchen in Southern California with a simple mission: bring the warmth and charm of British afternoon tea to every celebration that deserves it.

Our scones, shortbreads, Viennese Whirls, and millionaire shortbreads are handcrafted using recipes Michelle brought from England. Our thoughtfully collected vintage teaware — each piece unique — is coordinated to create elegant, photo-worthy table settings that make every celebration feel truly special.
We offer more than food. Britalicious provides a complete experience. Choose just the food, just the teaware, or our Signature Experience where we handle everything — catering, teaware, waitstaff, setup, and teardown — so you don't have to lift a finger. From intimate gatherings of 15 guests to celebrations of 50 or more, every event receives the same personal attention.

We ship select British baked goods nationwide. And we still approach every single event with the same care Michelle put into that first afternoon tea she made for friends in her living room.
